The Gelbvieh Breeders of Iowa is one of the oldest and most respected state Gelbvieh Associations. Their goal is to promote Gelbvieh cattle throughout Iowa and the rest of the Midwest by sponsoring shows and sales of Gelbvieh cattle in the state of Iowa and by advertising Gelbvieh cattle throughout the state.
The GBI holds its annual meeting in conjunction with the Iowa Beef Expo held each February in Des Moines. The Gelbvieh Gold State Sale is also held at this time and has a national reputation as one of the best state sales in the country. Bulls such as Polled Summit 648U and Polled Patriot have sold through the Gelbvieh Gold Sale in the past.
